I currently have about $1000.00 saved for surgery.
I would really love to be able to get my double incision mastectomy with nipple graphs with Dr. Garramone in Sunrise, Florida the last week of June 2012 or the first week of July 2012. I have accomplished gender therapy, hormones, and my name change on my own. My top surgery is the last major aspect of my surgery that will make me happy with myself. With this surgery I can finally feel comfortable and confident in my body. My mind and body will finally match one another. If you could spare anything, even a dollar, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you all so much. <3 For updates on my life please check my youtube channel here. Updates!
![]() Thank you so much everyone <3 Hello, Friends!
Hey, so I have decided to make one of these pages to help raise money for my transition. To those of you that don't have money, I absolutely understand and I don't hold that against you. To those of you that simply aren't interested in donating, that is perfectly fine as well, I will not take it personally. But to all of you that are interested in donating, I would like to tell you why I am asking for $10,000. I identify as a man. But before I can get my body to match the way I feel, I need to transition. To most people I am FTM or a Transman. And honestly, I hate my body, so incredibly much. I don't identify as a female, I feel like I don't belong in a female's body. Each day brings down my self-esteem and my happiness because even when I use a binder to compress my chest, people use female pronouns; to the world, I am still a female. In order to transition into a man, here's what needs to be accomplished: 1.) Gender therapy. Although being Transgendered is considered a disorder, most insurance companies do not cover gender therapy. The first session is about $160, with the following sessions priced at about $130 dollars. At least 4 sessions of gender therapy are required to accurately assess me as transgendered. From gender therapy I can move on to the next stages of my transition. http://www.gay-therapy-ct.com/insurance-coverage.html 2.) Bloodwork & Hormones. From gender therapy I will receive a referral letter and I will then be able to see an endocrinologist. This endocrinologist will prescribe me Testosterone at dosages that are right for me. Testosterone is also not covered under my insurance (I'm not sure about bloodwork at the current moment, however.) which means I will have to spend at least $120 for about 20 weeks worth of T with needles, which isn't too bad. (This is according to my friend, Tyler, but the prices may cost more or less for me, depending on the testosterone I am prescribed.) 3.) Top Surgery. This is the big one. I have always hated having boobs. I currently have a DD cup and I have been going for the gym for months trying to reduce the size of them. I bind my boobs down almost 24/7 or for a good majority of the day with this binder which is really unhealthy. From wearing the binder so often and having such large boobs, my lungs can collapse or I can have serious breathing problems/back problems. Honestly, I can't stand to look at them, and I would do anything to get rid of them. One of the best plastic surgeons for top surgery in the country is Dr. Garramone in Florida. The procedure is about $6,000 and I would need the money to get down there and back. 4.) Legal Name Change. Getting my name legally changed from Erica to Everett would be incredible. It is about $120 to hand in the application for a name change, then I would set a court date to have it made official. After that I would have to pay to get a new birth certificate, license, bank card, and so on and so forth. All the little pieces of plastic that identify who I am add up pretty fast. So there you have it. If you could donate anything, even a dollar, it would seriously help so much. I am not expecting people to put all the work in for me by any means, I have a full time job during the summer and I also am a full time student at Western Connecticut State University. I work hard for the things I want in life, and I continue to do so today. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you made a donation, I am eternally grateful. Thank you so much! |
